Commitment to Net Zero
Agile Spiral Limited commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions by 2040. This is ahead of the UK Government's 2050 target.
This is Agile Spiral's first Carbon Reduction Plan. Agile Spiral is a remote-first digital consultancy. The company mainly works from home and does not lease offices or use co-working spaces.
The 2026 baseline uses reasonable activity-based estimates because the company is starting its formal carbon reporting now. Future Carbon Reduction Plans will replace estimates with measured data where available.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are the reference point for measuring future reduction progress.
Agile Spiral has selected 2026 as its baseline year. This is the first year of formal carbon reporting for the company.

The homeworking estimate uses the government factor for homeworking office equipment and heating. Business travel includes a small allowance for UK client and supplier meetings. Waste is expected to be minimal because the company has no office premises.
Emissions Reduction Targets
Agile Spiral's long-term target is Net Zero by 2040. The near-term target is to keep the company's operating model low-carbon as it grows, and to reduce like-for-like emissions by at least 10% by 2030 against the 2026 baseline.

Reported emissions may change as Agile Spiral grows, improves data quality or expands Scope 3 measurement. Future plans will explain any material changes.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Agile Spiral has already adopted the following operating practices:
- Remote-first working, with no leased office or co-working space.
- No company-owned vehicles.
- Online meetings by default.
- Rail preferred over car or air travel where travel is needed and practical.
- Taxis used only where needed for accessibility, timing or safety.
- Minimal printing and paper use.
- Reuse, repair and secure recycling of equipment where practical.
During the next reporting period, Agile Spiral will:
- Record business travel mileage and transport type.
- Review homeworking assumptions against actual working patterns.
- Keep a simple record of equipment purchases and disposal.
- Prefer suppliers with published environmental or Net Zero commitments where practical and proportionate.
- Review the Carbon Reduction Plan annually and update the published version.
Agile Spiral does not currently rely on purchased carbon offsets to meet this plan. If offsets or removals are used in future, they will be reported separately and will not replace direct emissions reduction.
Declaration and Sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
